My most adored films/videos

Monday, 18 May 2015

This is a bit of a random blog post idea but I thought it would be nice to share some of the videos/films that I find comforting to watch. I tend to go back to these either when I'm feeling a bit vulnerable or I when I feel like I need a blast from the past. Maybe you can relate to these or it gets you thinking about your favourite programmes/videos to watch.

Stilababe09/Meredith Foster - Room tour 2014

This was the first ever video I watched on Youtube that wasn't music related and something about this always cheers me up. I'm not really sure why but it is most likely because I love her bubbly personality and I think it really shines through in this video. To be completely honest, I am also obsessed with Room Tours as I'm extremely noisy and I like to take inspiration from them. This is about 20mins long and I have definitely watched it over 6 times, to the point where I can quote certain parts of it, much to my embarrassment.

The first episode of 90210

When I first got Netflix, I was deciding what series to start watching and so many people recommended 90210 so I gave it a go. I love this programme, so many parts are really relatable and as it has many series, you connect with the all characters. The first episode just stands out to me because it is set at the high school and it is exciting because it is Annie's and Dixon's first day. As I live in England, I also get to have a glimpse into American high school life, even though I realise that other schools will most likely differ as this is a programme interpretation of them. In this blog post, there is an already apparent theme on first viewings but I feel these are the most memorable.

The Spy Kids films

Don't call me childish but I actually watched Spy Kids 3 - Game Over a few weeks ago. These films remind me so much of my childhood as I used to watch them all the time. I liked the gadgets they had; I thought it would be very cool to own some of them!

Vlogs on Youtube

I love watching vlogs; I find it interesting to know what people get up to on a daily basis - me being nosey again! Aside from that, I also get to experience, through a camera, places that I have or haven't been to. A while back, some Youtubers went to NYC and brought back memories of my trip which I really enjoyed. I love how they are in such a chatty style as well so I find it relaxing to watch them.

Annie

This is probably my favourite childhood film! I have seen two versions: the new one which came last year and the older one which came out in 1982. I was shocked when I researched this as I didn't realise the film was that old. The music is probably my favourite aspect of the film; I still to this day am heard singing some of the songs. It is just one of those films that you can turn on and it will bring a smile to your face.

Princess Diaries

I love Anne Hathaway, she is one of my favourite actresses; this is mostly due to the fact I was obsessed with the Princess Diaries. Out of the two films, I think I prefer the second because I like to see the interior of the Palace. Mia, Anne Hathaway, is also older but still her clumsy self - a bit like me to be honest. I really like Mia's reaction to her Grandmother, when she tells her that Mia is a princess, telling her to 'Shut up'. It is just one of those films that can never really get old.

School of Rock

My dad introduced me to this when I was younger, mostly because I think he liked the music in it and wanted to give me a somewhat education in rock. Jack Black is brilliant in all of his films and this is certainly not an exception. I like all the children because it reminds you of the different sorts of people you go to school with. It is also one of those films which has great bonus features. I remember re-watching and re-watching a clip of Jack Black explaining how McDonalds in a balanced meal. Maybe that is another reason why I remember this film!

  1. Princess Diaries is a great film! I do'n't think I could narrow it down to just one but I love anything with Melissa McCarthy in it. She's hilarious! xx
